Pragmatismo y virtudes liberales en la filosofía de Rorty

Resumen
This paper discusses the rortian thesis that Enlightenment rationalism has become an impediment to the preservation and progress of democratic societies. Firstly, it analyses the political implicantions of the pragmatist theory of truth; secondly, it considers the problem of a philosophical foundation of liberalism and the utility of the rortian theory of redescription; finally, it drwas a conclusion about Rorty's philosophical political programme. The main thesis of the article is that rationalism (or, at least, a version of it) is a necessary element for the dynamics of liberal societies.
